another great episode about a woman who got jilted out of a job promotion and resorted to payback just like the lady in black for her lover cheating on her. Trish Van Devere was impressive in this one

The sound track at the end of this scene is perfect.

This is a heartbreaking episode. Kay wasn’t without talent, probably did help Mark to become a success. But her ambition and obsession with climbing the proverbial corporate ladder consumed her. It also blinded her to her own shortcomings, where she needed to grow. Mark was right when he told her in the beginning that she made guesses, not decisions. Having said that, he very cooly parted ways with her. I’m sure he never dreamed she’d be the ultimate “woman scorned”.

This was one of my favourite episodes I first saw a few decades ago in my early 20's. Trish Van Devere as the murderer had a lot to do with it. In the end it was a gun in an elevator and a cue blip was what done her in. I had no idea what a cue blip was back then, I just remembered seeing flashing rings of light on my TV screen while watching movies before the scenes changed. It was how I knew something on television was shot on film rather than on videotape.

Excellent actress. The final is tough. Shakespearian.

A nice touch having the cue blip just as Columbo states that he thinks he knows the correct button to push.

In this episode after she is caught she says to Columbo "I'll fight, I'll survive, I might even win" To Columbo replies with a simple "Yes Ma'am". It is like he knew he caught the right killer but he doesn't really care whether a court would convict her or not.

Amazing episode, my favorite part is the first one with Kay listening to the walkman with her own countdown, it's a real thrill. "You've got twenty seconds...". The part in which she goes to her old house is amazing as well.

Another terrific finale to a case being solved by Lieutenant Columbo 😊

In this episode Bruce Kirby who normally plays Columbo's sergeant, changed roles and plays his TV repairman for a change. He was obviously sick of repairing Columbo's television set which was probably as decrepit as his car, as he offered to set him up with a new TV.

I just love this episode. So many elements of it have stuck with me for years. I saw it in the 70's when I was in early grade school. I think I liked Trish VanDevere. She is such a classic beauty. Check her out in "The Changeling" with her husband George C. Scott. Great haunted house movie. Won many awards and many hollywood directors put it in their top 10.

Por que colocam trechos de episódios da série Columbo? Ou coloca o episódio inteiro ou não coloca nada, como está logo teremos apenas uma geração que não conheceu e haverá mais interesse!

The gun on the elevator roof. The lighter down the drain grating in Strangers on a Train. Co incidence Lieutenant ?

Caption/description is misleading - "Kay" would not have killed her boss (and paramour) had she not felt a sense of PERSONAL BETRAYAL!

And just think, if the victim had not wasted his money buying her a new Mercedes, he could have got himself a new camper van, let her take his job and be living in that next to the beach right now!
