Why Study Sociology?

Our Bachelor of Arts in sociology gives you an understanding of these social contexts and helps you develop skills in oral and written communication, critical thinking, and research. Because our faculty specialize in a wide range of fields, you’ll take courses on organizations, criminal and deviant behavior, social psychological processes, family life, legal institutions, medical systems, human population dynamics, and international development. You’ll have opportunities for internships and hands-on research experience.

Our curriculum features two concentration areas: sociology and criminology. Both areas stress basic research and analytical skills that prepare you for a wide array of jobs.
