Great video Dominic - love it! I’ve always thought of the Venis fly trap theory as my business! My craziest sale was a pair of high end genuine lizard used men’s shoes that looked perfect for a pimp! They did sell after a few months for $110 or so. I paid around $10 at Goodwill. I also sold an old cookbook to a parent seeking this book from his childhood that his mom used that was beat up for each of his kids and grandkids for about $18. I paid about $.50 at a church rummage sale. Small sale but I made someone’s day. That’s the best part of this business and thank you for the reminder and great ideas. You’re so motivating! 👍😃

You are so right about the toaster. I still talk about the best toaster I ever had. It was a GE toaster purchased in 1975.

I'm only on the laser disc player so am going to watch the rest when I get home, but to your point about people thinking it was big and bulky, that's where people who will sell things that others don't want to mess with have an edge! I am sure I have walked by clothes that are worth money, but I don't have a mannequin, I don't want to measure, and most of all, Catholic schools destroyed any sense of fashion I may have ever had LOL so I don't enjoy clothes at all, but I will ship snow globes and breakables all day long, and I know many won't mess with those! Oh, Mrs. PT's fridge friend just popped up hahaha - you definitely have to understand there are a lot of people looking for unique items too, way to go with that sale, I may not have even wanted that in my house, much less my fridge, that was hilarious hahaha Thank you for sharing unique marketing ideas to display unique items!

@6:45 I had this one as a kid. I agree with your observation. That's why I go to estate sales on the last day, 50% off everything, I always find treasures.

Hey Dominic, I gotta say I still love the psychological perspective in your videos. I've made a couple of good sales using your techniques. Thanks, Randy.

Thank You...Love, love, love this video. HeHe, I couldn't help but lol when you were talking about the old timer guy in his cabin. Maybe I just "overthink" things a bit 'at times, but somehow I can imagine a woodstove in the background as opposed a tv with the football game on LOLI

I have really started to get into vintage electronics especially kitchen gadgets. They sell really well and are cheap to get. I picked up an electric cookie press for $2.50 last day of an estate sale. It sold 4 days later for $100. Got a GE electric hair hair drier today $4 should go for $45. Lots of good stuff

Old vintage with or without box will resell great return on or off line. It’s a matter of one’s reselling niche.

So my brain works this way, makes up a little movie about the person who is looking for this cool item I’m considering of buying; but I stop and think I’m being unrealistic so I don’t get it. I am going to give in to my “gut” way more in 2020 so THANKS DOMINIC for this confirmation!! (Although I refuse to think of myself as a spider; I’m more of an anglerfish 😉)

It really seams like at least 95% of resellers (if not all!!!) would no that picking up a vintage knieval doll is a no brainer? Was it not out in the open, maybe kind of obscured/ hidden

excellent work. what's up with these nickel and dime buyers; I got a small that was just sitting in house price for cheap at 1.50 and a guy offers 99 cents for I find that you don't want to develop a reputation in your ratings for being an acceptance queen.... I don't nickel and dime any longer on small price items since I reduce most to core already in order to move them as soon as i'm starting to just not accept any offers on these type of items... still learning. ebay offering system is a blessing for higher price items and a curse on small items for sellers.

What ou are saying seems to contridict what i wax seeing in sf ca. More than 3 dealers or more for one type of item in line. First 35 people in lines at estate sales were all dealers not the general public. After the first few hrs pretty much everything was gone that had any resale value.
