Finance Minister Palanivel Thiaga Rajan (PTR), in a press release on Tuesday, requested the Centre to reduce its taxes as it had the “opportunity and resources to help the common man”. He issued the statement to ‘offer explanation’ to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s speech in Parliament on Monday justifying the imposition of the tax.

I have been traveling in TN, Kerala and Karnataka last 2 months... I switched my car to CNG to reduce pollution as well as make my travel most economical... I started from Kerala where I had filled CNG at Cochin@ Rs 83/kg, at outskirts of Bangalore at GAIL outlet I filled CNG @ Rs 89/kg.... I was shocked and surprised that I filled CNG near Erode @ only Rs73/kg... One or two rupees difference is understandable but more than Rs 10/kg difference is just too much to digest... Kudos TN.... Now CNG in Kerala has touched Rs 91/kg 3 days
