What brings tears to my eyes as a lifelong DC sports fan is that Ovie never abandoned this city, never gave up, never quit. He gave 13 years of everything he had to this city and endured all of the heartbreak that came along with it. You can see the passion he has for this team and city and to watch him lift the cup after such a difficult playoff career is one of the most happiest things I’ve seen in my entire life. Alex Ovechkin will be a player that when somebody asks about DC sports legends, his name will be right at the top of the list. Congratulations Ovie, you got your cup! DC loves you!
