If that 4.4 felt like a 6.0 I don't wanna feel what a 6.0 feels like.

US: An earthquake rattled LA.
Japan: Hold my Kirin.

It’s the strongest earthquake I’ve ever felt. There were 3-5 strong shakes back and forth, then it faded out. The shaking only lasted 2 or 3 seconds. I live about 10 miles from the epicenter.

SoCal needs to get serious about seismic adaptations for water delivery.
This is semi-desert, loss of water supply can cause loss of life at any time of year.

Emergency preparedness is critical.

Water becomes unavailabile after a serious quake.

Get a filter straw that purifies any water so you're not caught out.

Gas and electricity were gone for a week in the Sylmar quake, so having a camp stove so you can boil water to purify it.

I had JUST walked in and closed the bathroom door, so wasn't sure what was happening for a moment. By the time I realized it was a quake, it was basically over.

My housekeeper was freaked out! She doesn't speak English and I tried to calm her down. I allowed her to leave for the day - she was THAT UPSET!

❤I’ve been in 7.1 twice in Soithern California. I’ve been in 5 and the 4. Can be very jolting in the way it hits surface and or deep in the earth. The 7.1 was mind blowing and I lived by the beach immediately the waves became huge.

That teacher says" I was sitting at the desk...., and we kinda just froze". Seriously? You didn't instruct children to Stop, Drop and COVER? WOW!! Must be a PUBLIC SCHOOL.

That looks almost believable. Almost as believable as a wounded ear. Amazing work.

I went through a 4.4 when I was working up in Silicon Valley. Foster City is on reclaimed land. It was my first quake (I grew up in TX). It reminded me of getting into a boat from a dock. I just rocked back and forth. My dog slept through the whole thing.

Exactly why I don't much faith in what journalists say. The quake was at 12:20!

When I was growing up in California we lived in a cabin that sat on a rolling layer which means that when we had a quake the two crusts would grind against each other pushing one or the other up or down. Anytime there was a shaker it felt like it was moving the house an inch or two in either direction.

We have a 5 gal of water, a 3 day grocery stuff at the trunk of our SUV. We even have a shovel. We attended a seminar given by the LA fire dept. they said at least 3 days of supply. Too many to rescue you don’t know when ur turn. Its in the car in case the family needs to evacuate.

None of the people in the videos handled the earthquake right. I know it was small but don’t wait to find that out.

Its just a reminder that the big one WILL eventually happen. Be prepared with a big supply of food and water on hand. Either that or move.

Best thing about earthquakes is getting to hear from Dr. Lucy again.
