Got a new Q5S installed a few weeks back. Rode it locally a bit and then took the ZX14R up to Deal's Gap, when this happened. Waiting to hear back from Dunlop, will keep you guys posted on how they handle this.

My buddy has been running them on his GSXR 600 and loves them. Ive been contemplating them for the MT10. But i still really like the S22's. They dont last, but are reasonably priced and have loads of confidence with them

Would love an Update on this issue to see if Dunlop did the right thing. I'm on my second rear Q5s and I love the tires.. 8 thousand miles on the rear before I replaced it. I haven't done a track day just mountain roads and some roll racing.

Sometimes (not always) a short heat cycle (warmed up and allowed to cool back to ambient) can prevent this from happening. Hopefully Dunlop will make it right.

i havent seen that on any tries ive ran. ive ran 3 full sets of Q5S's on my S1K and havent had a problem. and i run at the track religiously with those tires as well. maybe your psi was way too high? or a manufacturer defect? honestly dont know

I've seen a LOT of issues with the Q5S at track with really bad wear and delamination like that on 1. They seem to go from cold to too hot very quickly, the delam is likely the soft heating much quicker then the medium. What pressures were you running?

GF has the last set of Q3 we have on her track bike (SV 650 in intermediate), since we can't reliably get the Q3 anymore, she'll be switching to Rosso 4 Corsa, just seen WAY too many Q5S issues.

EDIT: Just saw this was an old video and other comments where you state a tire pressure (a really high one for sporty riding IMO). Hope you got it resolved!

I’ve had this even on a Dunlop d211 dot race tire, also seen other brands of tires do it recently too. Some tires are just bad 🤷‍♂️

either bad tire or over pressure to set the bead

Dealt with this same thing on my rosso corsa 2 last year. Rear ended up being replaced under warranty.

Actually had that same thing happen to someone I know the other day; I don’t know what pressure he was using but same result as that occurred. Seems like a bad batch of tires were sent out.

Definitely the bike, trade it in for a KLR and put some good knobbies on it.

I don’t like that at all. I have Pirelli Rosso IV’s on my Honda 1000RR I like them. That would give me reservations to ride on them.

Dunlop European tyres are waaaay better.
US made KRs also have random issues

Qc was out the window the day they put it together. Bet you can get a replacement free if you contact the maker. They probably going to fire someone over that if a few thousand of those were produced and have the same issue

They’re absolute garbage every single person I know has problems with these tires!!

That looks like a tire pressure or rear suspension issue.
What tire pressure and what have you done for suspension
