Alright here is the thing: I'm a game designer and I also design code architectures and APIs and these principles, at least the ones you mentioned in the video, absolutely make sense even when designing an Object or a system using Object Oriented Design, so...this seems like a must-have for any design indeed!

I can attest to the effectiveness of this book. William Lidwell was one of my professors at one point. Great guy! He also has an online course for these principles on Lynda.com / LinkedIn Learning

Wow, just watched this video and I am geeking out over this book. I found it on Hoopla and also immediately bookmarked the Lynda tutorial. I shared the Usability vs. Flexibility trade off with my team too. Great value Ran, I will be looking to purchase this book as a reference.

I don’t think usability always has to suffer when you add flexibility. If a product’s core architecture is implemented intelligently, it is possible to make a pretty robust product that is still very user friendly.
