I worked with two sisters that were married to two brothers. They told horrible stories about how their mother-in-law would be physically and emotionally abusive to them. And their husbands wouldn’t intervene. They were all from India.

I think if a defendant is being belligerent and unruly and disturbing the court proceedings, I think that's added trauma for the family of the victim who have already suffered a tremendous loss. If, after a warning, the defendant does not correct the behaviour, I do think it should be taken into consideration during sentencing.

Judge might have been really mad because her mother in law lost her son and was also a victim ! I think they should be taken into account in the sentencing
