Pt #1 My 1940 - 10' L Southbend Lathe

A show & tell going over my 1940 -10" Southbend lathe, and some chit chat

Nice looking lathe and bench. Plenty of room for the stuff you're going to collect.

The little crank you're thinking of getting rid of looks like the operating crank of a South Bend milling attachment.

I'd like to have a buck for every guy who learned "lathe" on one of these.

Your wood cabinet is original. I bought one in the summer of 2014 that has the identical wood cabinet. They are apparently for the government (OD paint for the cabinet) and possibly for the Navy (due to the latches on every drawer).
