I'm 61. I was there and refuse to call the original STAR WARS anything other than just that!

34/40. Mary Poppins tripped me up because I haven't seen it in over 40 years. Somehow I could not not figure out Schindler's List. Margot Kidder's upside down face took me too long to figure out for Superman. I just blanked on The Grapes of Wrath and The Philadelphia Story . No excuse. I can't believe I missed Psycho😄

No fair on The Good Bad & The Ugly...Clint looks that way in all those westerns

6:54 - It wasn't called "Star Wars: A New Hope" back then. It was simply "Star Wars."

I grew up on many of these films and they're burned into my memory.

What saddens me is that I used to be able to use scenes from these as a 'common vocabulary' with my contemporaries to make points in a discussion. It seems too many young folk today have a prejudice against 'old folks' films' (B&W) and are missing out on the best film era as a result.

6:45 In 1977 it was just called 'Star Wars' - it wasn't till later in the 1990's when it was redone that it was called 'Star Wars: A New Hope'

I got 34 out 40. but the "Good, the bad, and ugly", was a bit tricky because Clint looks about the same, in all his spaghetti westers so my first thought was for a" Fist Full of Dollars". I have seen all of these movies except 3, and I probably should look them up and watch them as well.

My score wasn't worth mentioning, but I do appreciate not having multiple-guess questions. Too easy to get things by the process of elimination (especially if the same answer doesn't appear twice!) when it's multiple choice.

That version of Three Musketeers definitely not 1948, but 1973.

I scored 35 out of forty. Some of the frames (to movies I have seen many times ) stumped me. Well done! The Grapes of Wrath was one of them. Really good!

29/40. Most of those I didn't get I've not seen and many of those I got I've not seen in a long time. Nowadays, with films mostly pushed to film only channels, it's be paradoxically both easier to see films and harder to see older ones.

Providing the date was extremely helpful.

This was fun! Scored 30/40. Like others have said, some movies I'd seen I couldn't identify.

I scored 30 right out of 40, so 75%. Most of the ones I missed were from films I'd never seen, but a couple of the frames that stumped me were from films I *had* seen. And I guessed right on a few I *hadn't* seen. All in all, that was quite interesting. Thanks!

Good choice of using more uncommon scenes/actors... made it that much trickier! I got 31/40... was doing well and got stumped on a couple of the oldest b/w ones. And even though I got Goldfinger wrong, my guess was "some James Bond film." I haven't seen a ton of these, but they're so iconic. I wasn't going to say "French Connection" (I was like 9 when I saw a part of it) but it just had that "feel" that I remember of it. Weird how this stays in your brain all these years later.

Nice screenshots for each one👍
Star Wars: A New Hope should have just been Star Wars. And Superman should have been Superman: The Movie. That's how they were released.
