I mean...strictly speaking the story isn’t entirely a lie. Viltrumites do have super human abilities (after killing the sh!t out of each other). And they do help less fortunate/advanced civilizations (by teaching them the wisdom of submitting to the Viltrumite Empire). The funny thing is that Omni-Man did what most parents do when taking to their kids about the world: he sanitized the story.

This scene alone makes Nolan’s reveal evermore gut wrenching. From the change in the tone of his voice to the complete disregard for human life.

I think what's crazy to me is Nolan actually made Mark to begin with. From ehat i remember...Viltrumites are pure bloods, it's like a Cardinal sin to cross breed with other species. So having Mark so early on in the mission was already him starting to fall from the Viltrumite indoctrination, if only by a little.

Technically Nolan isn't lying here, he's just omitting a lot of very important facts and details.

Even if I didn't watch the spoiler scene (for me personally) of the Guardians getting killed by OM, his story is still too good to be true.
