I need to have Gluten Free options because I have Celiac. Celiac isn't an allergy, it's a autoimmune disease. I get so sick for up to 8 hours of lower stomach pain that sometimes causes rectum bleeding it messes with my body so bad. I love that fact that more people are going Gluten Free because it means companies have to make more options that taste better for people like me.

Travis calls out that guy for making money on people's fears. That's calling the kettle black: his show makes money off people's fears every day.

Most of the gluten free products on the market are worse for you than gluten. I was convinced for years that I had a gluten sensitivity. Then I went to Europe and ate some crackers that I thought were rice crackers but they had gluten in them. Over the next few weeks, I had one piece of bread daily and b never had any issues. So now I bake my own bread and I get the flour from France and Italy. I also eat six servings of vegetables and 2 fruits a day. It’s not the gluten, it’s what we are doing to wheat. Let’s take a step back from the collective fear and food demonization and a step back into reality and common sense. Thank you!

As a celiac, trust me, if my life didn't depend on it I would NOT be eating gluten free. I'm used to it but it's a pain in the ass. If you don't have celiac just be thankful. Jesus.

Great points. I have Celiac Disease and I love having a great choice of gluten free snacks, but I think that most people don't need to be gluten free. On the other hand I think that most of the supplements are a rip off. I think that anytime you watch what you eat you feel better. Always remember Correlation is not causation, just like sugar is something people are afraid to eat. I don't think sugar itself is bad but the amount of it in our diets is scary. The hidden sugars and high fructose corn syrups in our food are really scary.

Gluten/ processed wheat products should be avoided as this "DR" is saying, ok so without a gluten-free diet how would one simply avoid all processed wheat products like from restaurant food, food at social events etc....simpler to just avoid wheat products all together to avoid eating garbage ingredients

the profit exploitation does not invalidate neither side only results do. Try gluten free and see for yourself

If gluten isn't the problem then why do doctors put people on restrictive diets to cut it out. I was diagnosed with IBS with a mainly gluten and lactose sensitivity, and as a result have been put on the low FODMAP diet. I need the gluten free foods/ suppliments to still get the nutrients.

As someone with a severe allergy to gluten, my childhood was an absolute *nightmare.* I couldn't eat the pizza when my schools surprised us with it, or the cake at my friends' birthday parties, or even something as simple as waffles when my mom made them for breakfast for my other siblings. The "gluten-free options" when I was a kid were so limited/disgusting that I would often just starve myself because of how repulsed I was by them. I was feeling so ostracized because of something as simple as eating food. This "fad" has been an absolute blessing for me because food companies finally have an incentive to make gluten-free products that don't taste like literal dog shit.

i don't get how ppl think gluten free bread or gluten free pasta is much better for them. if your worried about your health go for more of a whole food diet

Scare people, Dr. Travis???

Ya wanna know whats scary. Being trach'd at 31 and being told you'd be dead by age 33. I had subglottic stenosis/chronic inflammation of airway. Normal diameter is 25mm. Mine was 4.5mm. Onset at age 26. Many other symptoms such as roaming joint pain & inflammation, stuffy sinuses, heavy phlegm, depression, brain fog, poor memory, inflamed eustation tubes, irritability, mood swings, cartilage deformation, etc... No known cause-no known cure. Went to about 15 doctors, ended up at Mayo Clinic. No doctor ever found anything! I even had a doctor tell me I could eat whatever I want? I knew that was crap! I've had to become my own doctor!

Dr. Travis says to avoid refined wheat products. Sounds pretty close to Gluten-Free to me. So why bash the Gluten-Free guy on national TV. Pretty DICK move if you ask me. It actually sounds to me like someone whining because people are starting to wake up to the lies they've been fed their whole life and medical doctors are losing business to holistic practitioners because people want to take control of their own health.

Dr. Travis is simply WRONG on this issue. We make his job more difficult because we stop eating gluten and get healthy so we don't need the drugs & surgeries he & his profession wish to administer. I speak from experience. I'm 56 now. About 2 years ago I Started a gluten-free/dairy-free diet and was able to get my trach removed 1.5 years later. I'm slowly recovering my health. Not there yet, but well on my way. So how is it I can see 15-20 medical doctors and NONE of them were able to diagnose a sensitivity to sugar, dairy & gluten? And that's if you want to say that chronic inflammation of the airway is a "sensitivity". Sensitivity Hell, that's a life threatening condition.

Medical Doctors are trained in diagnosis, surgery & drug administration and know next to NOTHING about dietary considerations. Thankfully that's slowly been changing. Poor diet is the cause of many illnesses and yet, most of their research is into trying to eliminate the result of the poor diet, after disease presents. The "dis-ease" is the output of the bad input. The solution is to stop poisoning yourself FIRST. The body is designed to heal itself if you stop polluting it. Out with the bad and in with the good. Search out ALL TOXINS, food, chemical and environmental, and remove them from your life. Begin adding in proper nutrition & supplements.

I believe it was in 2016/17 that a scientific study came out proving what they call "Non-Celiac Gluten Sensitivity". It's a real thing, look it up! And what is it about wheat that people are reacting to? Could it be that many common crops these days are genetically modified? People have the right in America to eat GMO's if they want to. What I object to is the damned food industry "hiding" processed sugars & gmo's in the food. And if the medical establishment had their way, they'd close down all health food stores or make it all prescription based.

Some people will go to their graves doing EXACTLY what their classically trained medical doctor tells them. My uncle did, last Feb, 2017.

this guy needs to speak this loudly to a group of highly educated people in the audience? Just give him a microphone.

My husband & young son's celiac diagnosis brought upon our G-Free lifestyle. It has been great for the whole family simply bc it makes us more health conscious when it comes to eating. We eat twice the amount of fruits & veggies now & have cut back on processed sugar A LOT! We no longer eat fast food & rarely (amount 1x a month) eat away from home. I, who am not Celiac or sensitive, still have a some gluten every now & then but I'm making healthier choices without it.
