PLOT: The film follows the journey of Kitty, the imaginary friend to whom Anne Frank dedicated her diary. A fiery teenager, Kitty wakes up in the near future in Anne Frank's house in Amsterdam and embarks on a journey to find Anne, who she believes is still alive, in today's Europe. While the young girl is shocked by the modern world, she also comes across Anne's legacy.

I've admired Anne Frank ever since learning about her in middle school. I even had the opportunity to visit the annex she hid in. I always hope to see her story be treated with the dignity it deserves in any adaptation, and this animated movie looks like it will deliver that. I really want to watch this! It just looks so beautiful!

The story is lovely at the beginning or during when they're describing everything but it's also kind of sad.

I am very intrigued by this. When i saw the title i immediately went stone faced because of.. well you know. If i get the chance to see it i probably will watch it cause this is a very unique looking film the animation is heavily simplified yet overly Stylized, the story is imaginative despite centering around a person with a very dark story in real life history and the best part is from the trailer alone i have no finite idea what the ending will be despite knowing the ending of the title person.

Huh, it was actually not what I was expecting based on the title. It looks very lovely though, the art style is beatiful, and the plot of an imaginary friend coming to life long after the death of their creator is very original. It looks lovely.

As much as I hate to see her story romanticized, the creators of this film seem to be making a good point like when Kitty said Anne didn't write her diary to be worshiped.

The animation almost has the same vibes as “the breadwinner”, one of my favorite films of all time.

There must be so many Anne Franks out there in the world today. And so many in the past, whose names we never learned. So many living, brilliant, imaginative children, falling under the wheels of history, soon to be forgotten by the next few generations. Anne's diary reminds us how real they all are, every single person running from every single war. Nothing is worth the sacrifice of a single one of them. Of us. It's a lesson that has to be learned again and again, and which all too often isn't, because it makes everything so much harder. But so much better, if only we can take it.

I'm a bit worried that the nazis are generally shown as faceless, inhuman monsters. It would make it too easy for the viewers to distance themselves from then solely on surfacial features. But the whole basic problem with the holocaust was that everyone, respected neighbor, beloved familymember, dear friend, could turn to their side and support a genocide. Being a Nazi is not about looking evil. It's about hatret disguised as worry for "our culture". It's about xenophobia that paints their victims as inhuman and as a peril for "good people like us".
We shouldn't punch nazis because they march in groups and look all the same. We should punch them becacuse of the ideology they spread and the things they do.

This movie looks so beautiful, the way they incorporated the art style of the graphic novel is amazing. And just the idea of her diary looking for anne is just amazing, all in all this is one of the top 10 movies I'm anticipating in 2022

I don't know why but I've always been both appalled and fascinated by the events of the Holocaust, the survivors, even Anne Frank. I will never forget going to an exhibit when I was young. I always found her story captivating and now that it's being made into an animated film, I will have to see where the story takes us.

I saw this at the Animation is Film festival last year and was floored by how good this was! I was brought to tears a couple times as I watched.
