Everyone: The mafia doesn’t exist anymore.

The Mafia: That’s exactly what we want you to think.

Thank you, my child is almost two and he was just not understanding the way I was explaining the five families. I explained the whole murder, blood and sexual affairs but he did not get it till this video.

How could you not mention Lucky L which was the person that created the structure we know today as the five families. Before him, there were just a bunch of smaller gangs fighting for control. He, along with Meyer L. created the Commission and the businesslike structure of the American mob.

Being born and raised up during the late 60s until the late 80s in Bensonhurst brooklyn. I lived amongst the children of some of the families mentioned. It was an exciting time looking back some of the storys I hear about today tell the story well but I often wonder why the littles guys are left out of the storys. Simply because these little guys know so much about the ins and outside of the operations.

It's amazing how these organized mafias fell yet we can't stop bloods and crips and all their off shoots from spreading.

Few things to correct you on
The role Godfather doesn't exist in a family.
Capo means captain, captains lead crews with their lieutenants, the lieutenants lead local type crews.
The leader of a family is referred to as 'Don' or 'Boss'.
(some extra things)
The mob hasn't fallen they have only gotten smarter about their operations and how they make money.
(Roles in a mob in order)
Don/Boss
Sottocapo/Underboss
Consigliere/Boss' advisor
Caporegime/Capo/Captain (leads crews)
Soldato/Soldier/Made Man/Sgarrista (and many more titles)
Enforcer (glorified associate)
Associate (Lowest rank in the mob.)
