This is what makes cap great. One pure example to why he was worthy. He always stood up to what he calls bullies. He stood up to the guy in the valley before he was buff. He stood up to Thanos in infinity war and here and many other times he stood up to bullies. This is why he got the serum in the first place. Not a perfect soldier but a good man.

The power of this scene is Cap knows he’s defeated. He’s in pain, bloodied and exhausted. His hand is shaking and he has to suffer simply to fasten his shield. He knows he’s going to die and this is the end and he still rises to face the challenge. That’s what makes him the ideal avenger

Can we all just take a moment to realize that Cap now wields the powers of a God. And yet in this scene, he doesn't charge up lighting, he doesn't summon Mjolnir again yet, but the only thing he was about to use on his own against the entire army was his broken shield.
Where are we ever going to find another living man with more bravery than that?

I love this part, and this is why he is my favorite superhero. He is a worthy avenger, who, with nothing but half a shield, and just his selfless preserverence to fight towards thanos, was ready to pretty much die for the universe
