Great insight here! If your scrappy MVP can't find a group of users but a polished one can that's definitely not a good sign. Also love the comment about implementing non-scalable methods during early stages to maximize customer information flow. 33:19

Would be great if you guys could pipe the laptop display into the stream so we could see questions, watch you critique landing pages, etc. on future sessions.

Key Takeaways from the video:

• Find a population with a problem that existing products do not solve
• Leverage existing platforms to grab content and generate users
• Focus on providing value to users while tracking their demographics
• Be time-bound, intellectually honest, objective, and willing to experiment with ideas
• Address customer service issues in early stages personally
• Measure feedback by calling users, inviting them to the office, hosting dinners or creating Whatsapp groups
• Understand existing failures in the field to avoid similar issues with MVP launch.
• Continuous debriefing conversations, tuning and tweaking MVP, and pitching startup suggested
• Utilize something simpler than white label services for MVP testing for demand
• Provide specific market context for investors; charge rather than building free features for lifestyle business
• Honest with customers & investors; seek investor judgment on uncertain situations
• Positive spin recommended to prevent “not fun time” with expectations not met
• Platform risk should be considered when launching MVP; consider subscription revenue & becoming mainstream quickly to prevent platform shutdowns

It would help to set the expectations right, saying that not all the questions will be answered (or, alternatively, to find a way to even share a hint in writing in the questions' thread itself?). Apologies if it was said and missed on my side.

Great insights into random startups. Hopefully, the founders could have given a little explanation on the problem they trying to solve. Awesome responses from Eric and Michael :)

Hi Michael and Erick
I'm applying to YC and keep hearing on all there videos that if you don't have a founder that can build what your making that I probably won't get in.

My business is a Directory App and I can have it made fast so it gives me time to find a technical founder, does that matter and help me get in?

For the self driving car - you missed the biggest opportunity 1) you’re never gonna do better than Tesla give up now 2) if you choose one tiny feature of self driving and you do it better than Tesla you will get bought

Great content but too many “likes” make it painful to hear

If I can't code, should I just create a clickable prototype and landing page?

PLEASE give me that Stacraft-Analysis-Tool!
If it allows me to time-travel and jump back to a certain point in the game and then play from that point with a friend, I will pay 40€
