Supporting migrant families in Brazil - When a City Cares

Every child has the right to a good start in life. That is why the city of Boa Vista ensures all families are included in its early childhood programmes and services.

Lismary moved to Boa Vista from Venezuela in 2019 with the hope of a better life for her family. Now pregnant again – she remarks that this time the experience feels completely different as she participates in the Familia que Acolhe (Family Welcoming) Programme, which helps her and her partner to prepare for birth and the journey ahead. We also hear from the Mayor Arthur Machado and Project Leader Elane Florencio Rodrigues who are committed to ensuring that the services and programmes offered by the city reach every family.
