Now this prison is home to characters like Aizen, where he’s sealed at the end of the Aizen Arc using special bindings meant to completely seal his power as he waits out his nearly 19,000 year sentence due to the fact that he’s immortal, and extremely long sentences like that aren’t uncommon in this place since again it’s specifically meant for characters that they either aren’t allowed to kill or literally can’t kill. The thing is that aside from being a prison the Muken is actually pretty useful to the Soul Reapers, being MASSIVE nearly infinite void that they can use as basically a testing range for some of the most dangerous abilities in the series, like how this ended up being the battleground for Unohana vs Kenpachi when they were trying to help him awaken his Shikai and Bankai to save the soul society from the Quincy invasion. Now as useful as this place is, the Central Division was actually willing to completely lose it when they sent Kyoraku in there to make a deal with Aizen, hiding the keys to the place in his heart as Aizen realized the Central Division would seal the doors forever if Aizen took the chance to take them, pretty much putting him and them both in a lose lose situation. A lot of people think that Aizen could basically walk out of here whenever he feels like it considering he only got more powerful after being sealed, but let’s talk about what that probably is, as well as the OTHER prisoner being kept here.
