Excellent video of the whole setup on the wall during that time . Lucid indeed . Keep up the great work and May the solar be with you for the New Year 2022 + .

Did you try running this system without having the Sunny Island wired to the shunt? Per 6.4.4 of the SI manual, a shunt is needed when there are other chargers or DC loads on the battery. If you don't have those, you really don't need the shunt, other than having the metrics the smart shunt provides.

By the way, thanks for posting these videos and being so detailed.

Great video, thank You! we live near to Pensacola FL. what's your recommendation to install the 15 kV Sol-Ark inverters indoor or outdoor? thanks for any advice

We are planning to order 2 kong elites for our solar system with outback 8048 radian inverter. I wonder why it came with 3' 6 gauge SB175 cable. Seems way to small. I was wondering what gauge wire you used from the kong batteries to your bus bar. I can find the SB175 connectors up to 1/0 cable but would feel better using heavier cable.

I haven't been able to find info on how to hook up wind generator to the big battery 17kwh. I have a sol-ark, all it says is to connect to the battery with its own 48v inverter. So it charges the battery by its self. How do I connect to this sealed up battery ?

Did you ever consider using an active balancer? Would probably need the largest one you could find and would run hundreds of dollars but they work.

Strange seeing them use 175's. While that will work it would be much more logical to use SB350's with 2/0 for less resistance.

Is that bus bar something you made yourself? Looks a little DIY'ish but really clean. Can't imagine what that would cost retail.

I have had one big battery kong elite 17k for three months, works great. I needed more bank so I just ordered another, it is in a bigger cabinet and one of the bms wires came off. When I opened it up to fix it, I found that all the lugs except the main power cord were loose. One main wire running between racks inside was almost finger loose ???? Now I can't get them to balance. The newest one is at 100 % and sits idle while the three month old one discharges all night. Now one is at 46% while the new one is still at 100 and idle. Both hooked up to big battery bus bar and wires bought from them. Inverter is 12k-p sol-ark.

Hi, awesome video. I have 2 Kong Elites coming. How were they packaged when delivered? Did you need forklift or pallet jack to a unpack them?

Hi, what voltage are you using to charge the Kong Elites? 58.8v seems to be recommended from Big Battery but it also looks to be the High Voltage Cutoff as well.

Yes, I have two Kong Elitie’s. I have a Growatt 48v Inverter with MPPT charger built into inverter. I have my charger set at 60A. One of the Kongs max out at 270ah though.

Does anybody know if these batteries are certified for Canadian hundred and stores, will it pass permitting.

After reading over your comments on charging amps, I'm seeing I may have a problem over charging 2 of the Kong elite batteries. I have an 8, 000 watt solar array (still installing it) and so have about 160 amps (50 volts x 160 amps = 8, 000 watt array) to charge the 2 batteries. According to Bigbattery, one battery can take up to 90 amps, so 2 batteries up to 180 amps. So I thought it would work great. But you are saying that you are charging about 25 amps per battery for a total of 50 amps. Man, we've been totally off grid for 17 years and used to the old lead acid batteries and I'm still trying to get my head around this new technology! Lithium definitely has many pros over lead acid but it's seems like solar lithium hasn't been around long enough to get all the bugs worked out. What do you think a solution would be for our system? More batteries?

Batteries in parallel need the connection cables all equal in length. Even a single millimetre off will cause issues in the long run. Always buy new cables! 🤙🏼

I went with GSL 200AH in parallel with Used Nessian car batteries & boy do they kick out power more so then the new GSL battery along with 3, 500 kw solar panels with the 12KW Growatt inverter what a beast just to kick my 4.5 ton A/C unit in the a$$ & runs just that puppy 24/7 I do give the batteries off time & let them just sit charge on some days & pull from my 7 kw grid tie system. All in all it's that a/c unit that really sucks up the power & hit you on your electric bill the dryer is 2nd but doesn't run as near the
a/c plus I throw mostly everything out on the line here in florida its toasted in 30 minutes LOL. My electric bill did go down some from 350 to aroumd 40 bucks. Net metering is a sham they pay a fraction on KW what you make & dont use & the monopoly is even trying to do away with it all together & will lobby it in with the cronies to do it watch along with there already approve by the cronies stick it to the people 6% increase. Plus paying them for rates that are increased they are sticking to the people knowing from 5:00 pm to 9:00pm that's when most folks are home after a hard days work using power. So why not tell them if they are wonder why that it all base on demand LOL good one. So that's when the KWH cost goes up every day wow. After a quote I'm glad I decided to install my system myself got her done right you never know where them boys are running the lag bolts into sure you can alway go up in the attic & count how many misses but why should I plus I went with way more then just the recommended requirement support mounts for higher wind speeds glad I did to, sure it drove the cost a bit more but it's my job & house too.✌
