I'd be so interested in this if it wasn't in the cg style that makes it look souless-

Can you imagine how fun this would be if it were just stylized animation and not stiff cg lions-

Why wouldn't they just animate it... we don't need this style

I'm pretty sure we have enough Lion King prequels, courtesy of every art/fanfic site ever.
I bet actual money there will be at least ONE DeviantArt comic better than this movie.

Oh please don't screw this up like so many recent movies this is your chance to bring back some former pride and glory of what Disney use to be

I wonder if it will explain why scar is the way he is in the first one.

I guess it’s official. Our beloved Mufasa isn’t a “Red Maned Lion” anymore ;-;

I wish it was animated in the old Lion King style. That would have been so awesome!

Is it wrong of me to say that sometimes I think that Disney's original animation, when the scenes were drawn and not created on computer screens, brought more life and feeling to characters than many movies today (as in the ones with actors and actresses)? Somehow, Disney was able to draw real emotion and feeling into the faces and body movement of characters, especially animal characters such as in The Lion King when Simba was a cub at the death of his Father, or even in Bambi with Thumper beating his paw on the ice telling Bambi "It's ok, see, the water's stiff" when on ice for the first time. I still miss those types of movies, I was never as interested in the animation movies anymore once they were being "drawn" on a computer. I think it's because those programs are unable to "draw" emotion the same way the human hand is able to, nor incorporate that special something into characters like the animation artists after studying the person or animal they always used at a basic template for a character....they were known for studying real lions cubs to see how the move for The Lion King, or cats, or a person for a character like Snow White. Computers just can't do the individuality as well as humans, and it shows.

Please take a risk Disney so many of us would still love the magic of 2d animation.

"Erasing everything and starting again" should be Disney's new slogan. They've already done it with Star Wars and now with their greatest classic.

Mufasa is the eldest son of Ahadi, himself the son of Mohatu, who was the first king of the Pride Lands. His younger brother was Taka, who renamed himself Scar after a failed assassination attempt on his brother, due to their father's clear preference for the latter.

This story already stood on its own, forcing true fans of the classic to delve into research to find the answers, but the company with the long ears clearly doesn't care.

It'll sell well, draw people into theatres and boost sales of the franchise's merchandising, but I bet you it won't be as original or magical as it once was.

If Mufasa wasn’t born royal then what claim would his brother Scar have had to the throne?

I'd rather a Puumba and Timon adventure! Come on Disney!!
