Joint Meeting of the National Task Force – Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict in Region IX

In reaffirmation of the national government’s campaign to end communist insurgency in the country, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte presides over the Joint Meeting of the National Task Force – Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-RTF ELCAC) in Region IX at the Garden Orchid Hotel in Zamboanga City on December 2, 2021.

During the meeting, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and Cabinet Officer for Regional Development and Security (CORDS) Region IX Secretary Rolando Joselito Bautista delivers a report to the President. Several government agencies also award different programs and projects to various beneficiaries in an aim to bring development to communities affected by the rebel insurgency.

On December 2018, the President issued Executive Order No. 70 that institutionalized the whole-of-nation approach in attaining inclusive and sustainable peace, thereby creating a National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict and directing the adoption of a National Peace Framework.
