BIRTHDAY GLOW UP IN JAPAN
it's my birthday month and I wanted to treat myself. Also wanted to show you guys my natural hair since I get so many questions about it. I wish I had the time and health to keep up with cute natural styles but that's just not the case but it doesn't mean I dislike my hair.

Glad that not all people think it’s hate when we talk about all the time it takes to do our hair when it’s not hate…it’s reality. Lol. Saying that doesn’t take away from its beauty nor our love for it. Love the fro though🧑🏾‍🦱

Would love to hear more about your foster care expierence, I was in care from 12-18 and it was a fucking struggle. Trying so hard now to make my life my own, I love you even more now, I didn't think that was possible! Also, Wash Day is a wonderful idea!! I was in a lot of group homes with girls with 4c hair and I always found it so incredible the lengths you have to go to manage & maintain your hair. Huge huge respect Sundai, much love.

Thank you for your honesty. I feel like some black women think they can't say their hair is hard to manage. I would appreciate it more if you're honest. I'm a 25 year old haitian-american woman, yes my hair is hard to manage. If I try to flat iron my hair, the roots will start to get fluffy by the end of the day and I didn't even go outside. It has no type of curl pattern, it soaks up as much moisture as it can and then some, and the shrinkage is so real. I like my hair but my arms just get tired after 3 hours. Lol. I'm getting some cute box braids this week, though. Obviously, we still have a long way to go where the world can be more accepting of black hair.

I totally agree doing your own hair is a struggle especially when you are sick. I have 4b at top of my head the rest of my hair is 4c..you can have a mixture of textures 4b/4c so you and your sister are probably right about your hair

Feeling the pain! I grew up in a small town in England (I'm 40) and my hair was always talked about. My mum cut it all off when I was 13 thinking it would help. You can imagine the names 🎤
Love the braids though 😍

Happy birthday Sundai! You are so inspiring to me. :) I wish you many more blessings and birthdays in the future! Enjoy your day. And I also just did the big chop on my hair and I know the natural journey will not be easy but so worth it. My mom relaxed my hair since I was a kid out of convenience and I've never loved it. Starting to embrace my curls and I can't wait to get braids again.

I feel you on the 4C struggles, that's why I have locs, 18 months next month, still need to maintain but its nothing like a loose natural used to be (in my experience) fab video!
