Another good tip, if you hold right on the D pad you can taunt your enemy which increases your multiplier each time which in turn means more XP

I'm blown away by how complex and addicting this simple looking game actually is

I’ve personally found it better to use the eye strike as your go to Focus Attack over Strong Sweep in most situations. Doing Strong Sweep as a focus attack to then follow up with a ground attack is great but only guarantees you two successful hits (counting ground attack as 1) on the enemy. But if you use the Eye Strike focus attack, any enemy(including bosses) will immediately be vulnerable and fall to a regular non focus sweep kick (down, up, triangle) to which then you can follow up with a ground attack. This guarantees that opening with Eye Strike Focus grants you 3 successful attacks. As opposed to the Strong Sweep Focus only guaranteeing you 2. So basically: Eye Strike focus- regular sweep kick- ground attack- repeat. Made so many boss fights easier for me. Especially once you also upgrade your Focus Regen. Hope this helps!

Tips from somebody who's beaten it twice most of it age 20.
- Flowing claw is great for dealing with random boss enemies, They can't predict so you can either get 2-3 strikes or knock them down with a kick.
- Learn to duck, especially for the Club boss (or every boss tbh) Ducking opens up oppurtunities to get full combos off you usually can't do and you won't gain stagger against weapons. Ducking also dodges glowing attacks (unless they're sweeps).
- Sliding kick is OP and disarms (using flowing claw kick attack once they get up allows you two consequtive knock downs)
- Do boss practice runs to nail the timing down. Being able to actually dodge the Museum bosses attacks is so satisfying.

I know this has probably been said a thousand times, but this feels like the closest thing to a game based on the The Raid. They definitely have fun with the whole martial arts feel in this game and absolver

Also avoiding attacks when surrounded will sometimes lead to some enemy friendly fire.

I just realised the medallion not only revives you, it also helps you grow sleeves.

Thing I learned while playing Sifu is understanding this isn’t a one run game. I reply the first mission over and over to use that experience to permanently unlock moves. And when I’m strong enough and skill enough to get through it at age 20 I go and do the same thing with the next level.

People seem so overwhelmed with the difficulty but I honestly find it refreshing, mainly because the combat is so fun. I really don't find any of it to be repetitive, it never feels like grinding. I just take my lumps, upgrade my skills and jump right back in with new tricks up my sleeve. The option to permanently buy skills is genius, makes the replay value so much higher.

It's amazing that everyone talking about this game keeps mentioning Dark souls but they dont mention Absolver! This game is a great example of how an indie dev can grow if we give them the support :)

Spent hours just to get to level 2 at age 26.. this game is brutal. Thanks for the insight

You forgot to mention that when you sometimes do a takedown on a enemy they reverse and turn into a harder enemy with full health. That's where most of my death's come from.

The vast majority of hours I spent on this game were during the first 2 levels. Once I mastered them, I swept through the last 3 levels in no time. Not to say it gets any easier (it doesn’t), but by the time you manage to defeat Sean below age 30 you’ve become good enough at the game to defeat most normal enemies without trouble and to minimize mistakes against the other bosses. It’s a great feeling

Besides the camera angle, the one thing that annoys me is practice mode. The A.I. doesn't use low attacks or weapons to help with improving your defense.

A tip i can say is: watch out for enemies with glowing auras because if you do a take down on them they come back up with higher health and more damaging hits. They are not random, you can actually see the aura before they go berserk. Also, you can do a take down on them only with specific conditions, don't know exactly which but you can see it by the aura

Don't know yet if I like or don't like people potentially calling this/comparing this to dark souls. I feel like this game heavily does its own take on that formula and really is different enough to be its own thing.

My biggest piece of advice is to master levels. Shortcuts are great for spamming a boss you can’t beat, but no matter what, you’re going to need to start each level with as low of an age as possible. Age is never brought down until you replay the level better, so you’re absolutely not going to get by with a 45 end on level 2. Mastering a level also ensures that when you go through one, you can do so without shortcuts getting as many shrines as possible, setting yourself up for a good next level. It incentivizes having a personal best. So go back and do that first level until you only die once or twice. Then the same with the next level, etc.
