What to do if you overfill your Yamaha waverunner with oil

6 screws on the box for anyone wondering. Tend to rust. Good to pick out the screw driver bit slot of any rust and make sure the driver fits in there and doesn't strip the head. Make sure you don't lose your air filter box gasket either!

just got back from lakemead and hour ago and ran into this problem I hope I didn't run them to long before noticing the smoke. but thank you for the video, looks like I have some work to do... I just don't understand how I put to much I added 2 of the 3 quarts the Yamaha kit came with, with the intention of adding some once running at the lake and apparently 2 was 2 much ...

I'm having the same issue I actually had somebody who serviced my ski overfill it, I have sucked out enough oil so that it's at the right level but I ran it for a few minutes to see if the problem persisted before I realized That oil was in the air box and that's why it was causing it to smoke. What is the damage that can happen if you run too much oil through your air intake? And how do you just clean it out after you've wiped everything up Just carb cleaner? I am not having any oil in the bilge bthough

How do you check the oil level? Do you check it cold? Run it for a bit then check?
