Nintendo has revealed updated sales figures for its biggest games on DS, 3DS, Wii and Wii U. The figures come as part of Nintendo's latest financial report and were released alongside current hardware sales.

Yeah, same here. I honestly liked a lot the Mario and Zelda games for the Wii, but since there's nothing new, I'm playing my PS3 for now.

BTW, expect a price cut on the Wii U soon. Only 390k hardware sales from Dec 31-Mar 31 is abysmal :S

People talked about Nintendos end when the gamecube was their last console. In my opinion, they will have their place on the market. Maybe they will not grow or have as much of a segment as the other companies, but that's for sure. I assume they'll focus more on childs and casual gamers when other companies try to go for adult gamers who play frequently.

How about the impossible pack in NSMB2? Or Fire Emblem: Awakening's Lunatic mode? Or a competitive Pokémon battle?

i like to think of Nintendo as a handheld company. Considering that theyre the only handheld producers, they really should focus on bringing out new pokemon and Zelda DS games. That's where they'll make money.

It technically is the next generation by definition. If you wanted some huge step in hardware to make the last generation obsolete, the technology may not overshadow it any time soon.

So... while the retailers at UK slashes the wiiU price in order to try to sell more, the retailers are Mexico increase the wiiU price in order to sell more? Interesting logic we got there

the expect to sell 9 millions wiiu by the end of the year, i'm sure they'll show the biggest games at the E3 and release some in october or november

390k sales in 3 months is the worst thing you can imagine for a console. Even the PS3 averaged ~650k/month in its weak beginning. Thats 3x as much as the current sales trend of the Wii U

Probably it has something to do with international sales. Here in México, de normal edition is about $460 USD and de deluxe edition is about $590 USD. Ridiculousy expensive. What does it matter if the REAL console price is solw if they are going to sell it like that?

Is it just me or is 3.5 million sales in the first 4 months INCREDIBLY lackluster? Like half of what the Wii sold in its first 4 months?

I went to the IGN website and looked at the sales, there were some games on that list not from Nintendo, a few.

Actually, it is. Nintendo themselves said it was a successor to the Wii.

I completely agree. Im an xbox kid, but the rumors ive heard about 720 are awful. Integrating it with your cable box, always on, cannot use without internet. Also the stuff on xbox now is just bad. All the ads and other stuff is just stupid. Might switch to ps4 based on how it goes.

The Wii U next gen. If people were to look at it as Wii-u is to wii what SNES was to NES then the debate will be over.
The transition from one console generation to another is an evolutionary one. You have to look at the ladder of platforms from within a given company. NES, SNES, N64, GC, Wii, Wii-U. Each one built on strengths not available in the previous release.
The comparatives to the competition may paint a different picture but it does not mean that all artists must paint the same way.
