Here in coastal Mississippi, we have had 90+ F every day for the past 6 weeks. Just did a big gardening job but can only work early mornings. You absolutely cannot live here without air conditioning, which I keep at 77 with box fans running and all the shades drawn. There is no other way. Haha!

Jane, you are extremely talented! I love the curtain you made, as well as the pillowcases, and napkins. Your garden is so big. It really must be a lot of work for you and Mike. Is your house as big as your garden?

Great sewing projects. When I moved into my house I wanted window curtain and matching shower curtain but couldn't find for reasonable price. Converted 2nd shower curtain to window curtain. Still happy with it 25 years later!

So many good ideas for the curtains, pillow cases, napkins, and strips for quilting 😊💜

Howdy from Texas! In my little semi-tropical paradise here on the Gulf Coast, Hurricane Beryl blew through and caused a great deal of damage. Six hot-and-steamy days after the storm, my electricity has just been restored so, to quote the Beatles, “the smile’s returning to their faces”! 😄

Here in Northern Michigan we have finally gotten summer heating, we are over 80 degrees before 10am. My garden even though it went in a month early due to warm weather here in May, is just developing tomatoes, peppers and beans. We put a canopy over half of our garden due to the past 3 years of scorching temperatures preventing our plants from fully developing, despite constant watering and fertilizing. Our tomatoes are growing like wild, as well as the peppers. So the canopy is a success. We too have been busy trying to keep up with our garden and property. My turnips have gone to seed, as well as my pak choi, so we needed to get there wildness under control. We are also doing a no spend month, utilizing what we have on hand. Getting inspired by recipes in cookbooks from the 1950s is helpful.

Here in Jersey we experience very similar weather patterns to yours, I am just about to check our tomatoes for Blight, I hadn’t heard of this before, thank you so much for flagging it x

New subscriber here from Southern California. Very hot here until October! Nothing to do but use AC and fans😢. I have watched other frugal shows and wonder how anyone can be truly frugal without sewing! I have sewn and quilted all my life and not only does it help my budget, it gives me endless hours of enjoyment and satisfaction to create gifts, clothing and things for my home. Our thrift/charity stores in my area have gotten kind of pricey so I check yard sales occasionally. I have enough in my stash to last many years! 😂 I hope you get some sun soon!

That is so interesting how you made those curtains! We're moving to a new place. Maybe i should pay close attention.

Spending as little time outside as possible because of the heat (northeast US). Very thankful I have AC! Trying to sort through preps to see if anything is outdated or could be used this week.

In Texas it’s been very hot, and we are focused on inside work as well, but getting some outdoor work done early in the morning and late in the evening. We have moved our garden since the exposure has changed through the years and we are starting fresh with a fall garden since summer will be a bust. Inside we are “jazzing it up a bit” as well since our children are now gone from the house. Redecorating using what we have, and upgrading as we are able. I would love to have a cold July! We have a cold front coming this week and the temps will get knocked down to 92F for the high and 72F for the low for a few days.

I am so sick of the rain here in the UK, and being so cold, still wearing mittens to walk the dogs, had 2 weeks of half decent weather end of June, and thats been the Summer so far. All our gardening jobs are behind the usual schedule too, but great use of time & fabric in your sewing segment. Im carrying on catching up with yours videos from the beginning, earlier I watched your day trip to Douarnenez, now that weather looked glorious!! thanks for the video
