In recent years, we’ve partnered with Discord to introduce more ways for players to connect with their friends and communities across Discord and the PS5 console. Since we first introduced Discord voice chat on PS5, players have joined a Discord voice chat on PS5 more than 290 million times to hang out with friends in Discord voice channels while gaming. Easier access to Discord voice chat will roll out gradually over the coming weeks. How to join Discord voice chat on PS5
To start, select the Discord tab in Game Base within the PS5 Control Center and choose the Discord server or DM group you’d like to join. Then, select your preferred voice channel. This will reveal more details, such as who is already in the channel chatting. You’ll also receive a PS5 console notification when another Discord user calls you, allowing you to join right away.

Today, we’re pleased to share that we’re starting to roll out the ability for PS5 players to join Discord voice chat directly from the PS5 console, without relying on the Discord PC or mobile apps to initiate the connection.

I have a bug to wear whenever I try to join a discord chat through my PS5 it'll connect to me but then I'll get stuck on a " switching" screen indefinitely and it won't let me leave, It won't let me start an actual PlayStation party, And it won't let me switch audios so I literally have to restart my entire PS5 just to try and join the discord chat through my PlayStation and I can't join the call through the app and then transfer the audio to my PS5 either because it'll do the exact same thing. Is anyone else having this bug and if yes wtf do I do to fix it because this shit is annoying.

5:18. Im thinking you're talking about from PS's side. But if you're not; That function has been available since the link feature iirc. Specifically from Discord's view though. I remember being able to see when my friends were playing games like Ragnarok, FF16, etc. And even being able to see myself on PS5 via my PC discord. Even had a little PS5 icon too i think. But your PS5 AND Discord online status must be set to visible/online.

Honestly, I don’t understand why they just don’t add Discord as an app to the PS5. It’s not that difficult, and it saves them from having to do all of these little updates every now and then, adding a small feature from Discord to the PS5. So much time is wasted by Sony and Discord; surely they can come to an agreement and add it entirely to the PS5?

You say it's baffling that they waited this long but I'm sure if they didn't have to do work to get it working, they would have. They get working the same thing that you always wanted but you still have to complain. They went through the same steps on Xbox because it's not just flicking a switch. Show some respect for these developers and programmers.
