Battle of AoE 2 soundtracks

I'll never forget the Spanish theme at the start of a game that had the singer. They removed it for no reason.

Devs should have kept the sound of bird chirping and owl hooting from the OG version. It gave real ambience of Rural Medieval era.

0:20 everytime I'm playing my game (yes i still play HD) and this song plays, i get stressed for no reason. 1 minute I'm peacefully managing my farms and lumber camps and this music plays and everything turns into the cold war.

They should've thought of that when making DE. As good as DE is, The OSTs, the campaign VAs, the unit death sounds and whatever else I'm forgetting did not need changing IMO.
Still hoping for a day when they bring those back and add an option in settings to revert to classic audio files.

I'm so glad so many people agree with me on this. Every time I read opinions on the Definitive's soundtrack being "proper" versions I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

I’m glad they changed the soundtrack because it makes listening to the original soundtrack more nostalgic.

fully agreed, the DE was too noisy and bloated with the orchestra, while the original had a simple, yet refined midi melody...

And I was upset to realise the DE didn't have the Conquerors Expansion music. Specifically Track 5 was my favorite
