I have driven the Lotus Emira, and now I have changed my order! Here’s why…

Make sure you take the advantage of the Emira test drives before finalising your specification. We were surprised by the softness of the touring chassis. Sport will be the most desirable, I’ll bet my hat on it!

Thanks for the content and review! I also recently test drove it. My order is for the touring chassis and, after the test drive, I have changed my order to automatic. I echo the sentiments of another comment on here that this is a personal choice and really depends on how you plan to use the car. I will not track this and I don’t want to have to pick and choose when I use it, in the city versus the country, traffic, etc. I enjoyed the manual but daily driving it in traffic is no fun (test drove it in New York). The paddle shifters will do me just fine and enable me to enjoy the car more. …Can’t wait for it to arrive!

Did the seat material wear away/disappear or was it easily discolored? Love the video!

I have a deposit down and a test drive on Monday. The car is imo one of the best looking cars ever. I'm still very much undecided about the engine, colour, trim etc etc, loved the look of the red with white leather but very concerned if it's showing wear after only a few weeks.

between the lotus emira and audio r8 v10 manual which would you choose?

Not all people want a stick and many will never take it in the track. So disagree with the suggestions that everyone will want the same thing. Some guys are just older and don’t want the stick anyone. Some might see that as a sin but that is just narrow thinking. Do you all remember when Porsche came out with the SUV and many diehards said that it will never sell and hurt Porsche image? They are forgetting that they have sold tons of those and have helped create a new source of income to sustain the “real” sports car many love. So get a wider audience is not a bad thing. And the i4 is not a bad thing either.

Very encouraging and appreciated perspective. Dampers are not adaptive though so changing drive modes will not alter the ride in either chassis. I am going to stick with tour chassis as it is my daily driver and I’m neither a spring 🐥 nor a highly skilled driver. Coming from a 981 Boxter S so I expect a more sporting experience even with tour chassis.

But... I don't want a Camry engine, I want an AMG engine.

Video is absolute nonsense talking about changing the settings in the chassis 🤦‍♂️

Drove the car today and I thought it was amazing, my last last car was a 720s and this lotus gets to replace that 🤩

Looks like I need to think twice about the light grey interior! Thanks.👍🏻

Waiting a year or two for them to work the kinks out and I need it in Motorsport Green exterior

As a 13yr old I came across a Lotus Europa at the train station in Westport, Conn. I told myself I would have a Lotus one day. When I saw the Emira I quickly put down a deposit.

The suspension settings actually don’t change at all regardless if in TOUR, SPORT or TRACK!

I read lots of reviews saying the sport suspension is "too harsh" for the street. I ordered the sport suspension with Goodyear tires and feel the setup is perfect for me. Aggressive spring rate but very forgiving damping. I'm delighted!!

I am awaiting my Touring V6FE delivery but my test drive was in a Sport. I have to say that I found the Sport a little crashy on potholes and over some cobbles etc so I am happy I opted for Touring given I won't be track-daying it very often.
A few little niggles on my test car but overall very impressed with the the infotainment, which I felt was underwhelming.

If I had to choose which Emira to get as a track car, I'd get the i4 DCT. I'm not going to track any car with a manual, way too much work for me.

awesome. i'm not really into new cars, both because i'm a poor sod and also because i like the rawness of older cars more. but this emira is something else. fell in love with it the first time i saw it. unfortunately i haven't seen it in the flesh yet. wonder if i ever will here in germany. but if i had the money, i'd get one in a heartbeat. i'd probably opt for yellow with the more traditional silver wheels and a dark interior, touring suspension but manual, of course! i'm quite certain that it would be _the_ car to keep forever.

I drove car yesterday and having a Evora as a daily I would say its a very good evolution of the Evora very well made and steering feel is still great if not better than mine. Having watched the Harry Metcalfe factory video the chassis is again a evolution of the Evora , I have taken both clams of mine to work on it and there are lots of similarities which is not a bad thing at all. I just can't decide on exterior colour and going to Silverstone tomorrow to look at red one but definitely not the light grey/ silver seats ha ha .I was going I4 but changed the order months ago to V6 can't wait....
