I owned a google pixel 8 pro and the downside of it was the fact that most of its features are not available in my country.
Instead of releasing more features that are country limited, why don’t they work towards spanning it out to other countries

I think Google should've spent more time refining Gemini before using it to replace Google assistant. Also, they spend way too much time on AI when Google should be spending more effort on getting core basics like thermals, battery life, call quality and connectivity right. Its a shame we are almost 4 generations into Tensor and in order for your phone to run smoothly you have to turn off 5g. I'd trade all the gimmicky AI features for improved reliability on basics that matter the most.

I'm glad I got an 8 Pro on sale because I can guarantee that most of these new AI features won't be coming to Pixel 9 in my country. In Depth Tech Reviews already has a review out and his unit is missing a tonne of them.

Gemini is not an adequate replacement for Assistant yet. It cannot do most of the use cases I do with Assistant every day and adds nothing of interest to me. Gemini may be the end of my run with Google phones (going back to the Nexus 5). I want a phone that does not overheat.

I loaded gemini on my 8 pro yesterday, and so far im utterly disappointed in the amount of things that did work with the google assistant, that no longer work with gemini, I also looked at the gemini app in the playstore and the reviews, and a lot of them where not glowing at all , but I wanted to try it out for myself .
Looking at some of the image AI features , a lot of that stuff you may rarely use if you are not out taking photos often .
at this stage, im thinking in a week or two I`ll be going back to the old assistant which seems far more capable.
