Lebron is not on the same subject as Kobe and KD, because he was the Shaq of his early championships. He went to the Heat, and the team formed during his stay, and he was the unquestionable best player and MVP. Shaq was Kobe's MVP. And KD inserted himself in a team with already four all-stars, two MVPs, the two best shooters in the league, one of the best defenders of the league, and a proven system that won 73 games in the previous year.

He's saying there's levels to it. There's a reason why Robert Horry's 7 championships (while impressive and he was a good player) matter less than Kobe's 5. The role you play on those teams matters too.

If KD wants to be regarded on that next level, another championship with a different team helps make that argument.

I think there's some hypocrisy here. Chuck never won a title, then shortly after losing to Houston being up 3-1, rolls to Houston to team up with Olajuwon and the crew and still never won a title.

So whatever respect fraternity these older legends have don't seem to be consistent with the criteria.
