For the proper springs, just disconnect the old springs and weight the door with a bathroom scale.

As noted door must be up, however, he forgot to mention to use 2 visegrips (OK) or C-Clamps (better) on each side before doing ANY work.

The wire that is snaked through the spring and attached to the horizontal angle where does the other end connect too? Is it connected to the door?

The door should be weighed to insure you get the proper weight springs.

Replace the cables too.. had a car window shatter because the cables broke with new springs
