If I'm being completely honest, I'd say Runway Gen 3 is both exciting and disappointing at the same time. It can work well for certain subjects BUT you have to generate quite a few times to get something usable. Cost is just a bit too much and no ability to do img to video just yet. But so far I'd say true "text to video" gen 3 is slightly better than the rest.

Honestly, at this point, I would like them to improve what Gen-1 almost had in mind, and that's taking a video to guide the movements and composition of the scene and output a transformed, photorealistic, stylized, or enhanced video. Having a preserve/creative slider for some creative control would be a plus.

since the credits are pretty pricy i would encourage EVERYONE who is interested to at least sign up for unlimited for the first month or so. it is by far the best bang for your buck period. and for that price you get UNLIMITED videos . it may generate a bit slower but to me thats a very SMALL price to pay for being able to make as many as you want. it really is almost required in a model like this. otherwise you will be EATING UP credits. so that would be my suggestion really.

So they just released a unfinished product due to fomo to Kling and Luma machine. Not the best stradegy imo. Both competitors have img2vid which is the core feature people want because it gives them more control over the expectation.

Way too expensive for the amount of generations you get. Very inconsistent and outputs nonsense a lot of the time. With no option for image to video it’s not worth it unfortunately.

Indeed super expensive, I milked my credits in no time banging out 10 second clips, seems still not worth it for me, but better closer!
