A new campaign ad depicts Florida Governor Ron DeSantis as a “fighter” sent by the Christian God to defend the downtrodden.

None of that holds up in reality.

Damn, even I as an atheist know that the ad was sacrilegious

I grew up in the fifties in a very dysfunctional family. I also thought that all other families were like “Leave It to Beaver” and “Father Knows Best”. It was just my family that wasn’t like the television shows. It made me feel even worse. It took a couple of decades before I began to understand that real families were nothing like that.

I am always amazed how a group of people can continue to claim moral superiority over everyone and everything. All while continuely claiming perpetual persecution as well.

“God made a farmer”? Except that for most of human existence, we lived as hunter-gatherers. Agriculture didn’t start until around 12, 000 years ago, and no god was involved in that, it was all hard-won human knowledge.

I think we all have a duty as non-believers to laugh at Christianity...I mean seriously...

When I first heard about Desanctomonius and his stupid migrant stunt I thought it was just awful. But since then, it seems even worse to me. How incredibly psychopathic you have to be to do something like that. Just a malignant narcissist.

When I first saw the DeSantis ad initially I thought it was a parody of DeSantis. In normal times it would have been. However in these times it's meant to be a serious policical ad.

On the eight day god looked down on his planned paradise and said, "I need me some blood, death and destruction, and some assholes."

Thanks, Hemant! You do a great job of keeping your followers informed. Even if I'd seen this ad before your video, I wouldn't have caught the Paul Harvey history. (That voice was a trip back to childhood! I remember hearing him on TV sometimes.)

And on the ninth day, God looked down on Florida and said, " What the hell !?!?"

I don't live in FL, so I've never seen this ad. I thought at first it was a parody mocking Desantis' opinion of himself! I was Christian until 3 months ago. How could any Christian watch that and not think it's blasphemous?! It's disgusting according to Christian values and violates every Christian standard! It sets a new standard for a hypocrisy.

This crap might fly in Florida but if DeSantis runs for president in 24 this ad will hurt him.

I hated that Paul Harvey speech. I'm a farmer and found that speech and Harvey's smug religiously supercilious attitude intolerable.

We need to keep religion out of politics.

DeSantis is God's gift to Florida. A gag gift.

The only quote I know about a farmer is the "I am a farmer" of the guy that owned the field where Woodstock took place.
