Were there to be a "Hot 100 #1s for 1969" produced, it would either run 2:05 or 2:11 depending on whether just the "Aquarius" part of The 5th Dimension's medley with "Let The Sunshine In" were to be used, or whether there'd be snippets of both sections. (If a 1967 edition of Hot 100 #1's were to be made, its length would be equal to this.)

And here for comparison, is how those Billboard Hot 100 #1's outside of the six already mentioned by 'Paul Duca', fared on the UK charts (likewise with those that failed to make the UK chart not listed):
- "Crimson And Clover" by Tommy James And The Shondells (#60 in 1982 for Joan Jett And The Blackhearts)
- "Everyday People" by Sly & The Family Stone - #36
- "Aquarius / Let The Sunshine In" by The 5th Dimension - #11
- "I Can't Get Next To You" by The Temptations - #13
- "Suspicious Minds" by Elvis Presley - #2 in 1970
- "Wedding Bell Blues" by The 5th Dimension - #16 in 1970
- "Something" / "Come Together" by The Beatles - #4
- "Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye" by Steam - #9 in 1970
- "Leaving On A Jet Plane" by Peter, Paul And Mary - #2 in 1970
- "Someday We'll Be Together" by Diana Ross And The Supremes - #13 in 1970

Could you do the Canadian number one songs; from RPM, Canadian Singles Chart or Billboard Canada Hot 100?

"(If Paradise Is) Half As Nice" was the first Number One of the "official" era, at the point the BMRB was commissioned and contracted by the BBC, Record Retailer, and the latter's then-owner US Billboard to compile "official" singles and albums charts. "Blackberry Way" was the last independently-compiled Record Retailer topper.

It was after BMRB assumed the reins of compiling the "official" chart that we start the count of this post. In this year alone, 1969, for the first and last time, a disproportionate amount of "unofficial" Number Ones were from one (and only one) publication, Top Pops (renamed Top Pops & Music Now on 27 September 1969, and Music Now on 21 March 1970). We hereby commence:
- "My Sentimental Friend" by Herman's Hermits
#1 on Top Pops for 2 weeks - 24, 31 May 1969
(Blocked "officially" by "Get Back"; the other charts likewise kept it out of the top: Melody Maker - #2; NME - #3)
- "Oh Happy Day" by The Edwin Hawkins Singers
#1 on Top Pops for 1 week - 05 July 1969
(Blocked "officially" by "Something In The Air"; NME and Melody Maker likewise kept this stalled at #2)
- "In The Ghetto" by Elvis Presley
#1 on Top Pops for 1 week - 12 July 1969
#1 on NME and Melody Maker for 1 week - 19 July 1969
(Blocked "officially" by "Something In The Air"; this record's chart position was none too dissimilar in the U.S. where it reached #1 in both Cash Box and Record World but got no higher than #3 in Billboard)
- "Saved By The Bell" by Robin Gibb
#1 on Top Pops for 2 weeks - 09, 16 August 1969
(Blocked "officially" by "Honky Tonk Women")
- "My Cherie Amour" by Stevie Wonder
#1 on Top Pops for 1 week - 23 August 1969
(Blocked "officially" by "Honky Tonk Women, " "Saved By The Bell, " and former "official" #1 "In The Year 2525 (Exordium And Terminus)"; this fared no better on NME and Melody Maker which both pinned it down at #3)
- "Don't Forget To Remember" by The Bee Gees (featuring Barry Gibb, Maurice Gibb and Colin Petersen)
#1 on Top Pops/Music Now for 1 week - 27 September 1969
(Blocked "officially" by "Bad Moon Rising"; this one was likewise also kept at #2 by both NME and Melody Maker - TP/MN - which adopted that name with this issue - played the Billboard role by pinning the said CCR number at #2)
- "Oh Well" by Fleetwood Mac
#1 on NME and Top Pops/Music Now for 1 week - 15 November 1969
(Blocked "officially" by "Sugar, Sugar"; Melody Maker also relegated this to the #2 spot)
- "(Call Me) Number One" by The Tremeloes
#1 on Top Pops/Music Now for 2 weeks - 29 November-06 December 1969
(Blocked "officially" by "Sugar, Sugar"; NME and Melody Maker also kept this confined to #2)
- "Yester-Me, Yester-You, Yesterday" by Stevie Wonder
#1 on NME for 1 week - 06 December 1969
#1 on Melody Maker for 1 week - 13 December 1969
(Blocked "officially" by "Sugar, Sugar"; surprisingly, this one got no higher than #2 in Top Pops/Music Now)
- "Ruby, Don't Take Your Love To Town" by Kenny Rogers And The First Edition
#1 on NME and Top Pops/Music Now for 1 week - 13 December 1969
(Blocked "officially" by "Sugar, Sugar"; on the other outlier, Melody Maker, this could only likewise aspire to #2)

Of those that made #1 officially, "I'll Never Fall In Love Again" was perhaps the most famous NOT to have had any U.S. release. (The cat. #'s under which any proposed U.S. release could have fallen were all used up by a distributed label of Capitol's, Kef.) And TP/MN was the only other chart besides the "official" one where "Je T'aime . . . Moi Non Plus" reached the top spot, as NME relegated it to #2 and Melody Maker to #3.

A suggestion: What about a list of songs that have reached #1 in the UK / USA and aren't in English?
