During the college football game between East Carolina and Cincinnati, an East Carolina wide receiver took a huge and loud hit at the goal line. The play was called targeting and after review the call stood.

As a former D1 player, I urge you to slow it down and watch it…@ 1:07 the RB drops the pass and looks down, this extension of the neck creates a far larger range of motion and allows for the “whiplash” effect. As far as, the hit is concerned the DB was not targeting the receiver the is evident at the 0:58-0:5 9 mark when he does not launch, but instead performs the duties of his position, as he was trained to do, in a spectacular fashion.
