Pirates look good this year! Holton Ahlers looks very composed this year and his solid offensive line is giving him plenty of time. Pirates defense was exceptional and protected well against most runs and the open field. Pirate defensive line put lots of pressure on the Wolfpack QB. Pirates needed a little more run plays and some crossing patterns for their receivers to pick up short yard gains. Also, special teams need to fine tune a bit to compliment the rest. Though, overall a great game! Consistent energy and flow from both teams, from start to finish!
Favorite play of the game:
4th quarter 1022 remaining. State has the ball 4th and goal. Pirates come up with a huge defensive goal line stop for the second time!

Fumbled at the goal line and a failed 4th-down conversion. Shouldn’t have been a close game to begin with if not for turning the ball over but a win is a win. We would’ve been in the same boat as Va Tech and BC.

OMG I'm a state fan, at times offense looked like usual minus two goal line foul ups, which would have made this not a game at all, but man I'd hate to be the kicker, bet he doesn't get any tonight lol

ECU completely outplayed NCST in the second half and blew their chance to tie and then win the game. they stopped NCST twice at the goal line.

that's 1 thing I know about FG kicks in college is that it's extremely hard incomparable to the NFL because college has to kick on the verticals on either side of possession making the timing & the awareness from defenders while trying to hit it from an obtuse angle

The Pirates are solid, tough, and athletic on both sides of the ball with senior leadership and great coaching staff. ECU will be in a bowl game this year and will cause all kinds of trouble for their opponents.
