Louis Gossett Jr. has died. The Academy Award-winning actor rose to fame as the role of Fiddler in the popular 1977 miniseries, ‘Roots.’ He was best known for his role as Emil Foley in the critically-acclaimed drama, ‘An Officer and a Gentleman.’ He was 87.
