NEIL DIAMOND Desiree Purrfection Extended Mix

One of my favourite Neil Diamond records is this 1977 release which was a #1 Adult Contemporary and a Top 20 Pop hit for the megastar. Boasting one of the most distinctive male voices and a prolific and poetic songwriter, Neil Diamond is one of the most successful performers of the 20th Century with sales of well over 100 million worldwide. His legendary tours and nearly 50 years of writing and recording have afforded him the lofty place in pop history that he holds.

'Desiree' began climbing the Aussie charts in December of 1977, and while only a Top 30 hit, it remains one of my most beloved Neil tracks. Pete aka 'DJDiscoCat' created this wonderful extended version of the record and it brings even more spirit and life to an already vibey performance.

I've always thought this song was "done too soon", esp. for a catchy #1 hit :-D For some odd reason, you see versions of it out there that are marked supposedly "single cut", giving the impression there is a longer cut of the tune on the album (or somewhere else). However, the cut on the album ("I'm Glad You're Here With Me Tonight") is no longer than the supposed "single cut", i.e. 3:18 or so. Weird.
