I’m a firefighter, and we respond to traffic accidents almost daily, sometimes multiple times a day. It is mind boggling the number of entitled drivers that think they are the most important person on the road, and have zero regard for the safety of the crews working on the roadway. They apparently only know one way to get where they’re going, drive on the wrong side of the road, drive through the middle of the scene. Everyone and everything is an inconvenience to them. The best part is they will thank you for your service when they see you at the grocery store, and then curse you out if they have to wait an extra 5 minutes in traffic at your scene.

I can’t understand why some older people work their entire lives to retire and relax yet they are still rushing around like they are late for work.

My husband works for the DOT. He still has nightmares from when a pick up blew through his construction zone, ramming a trailer carrying workers and those plastic orange barrels. Three of the crew were killed. This behavior is not a joke because a motor vehicle is a deadly weapon even if you are only trying to threaten to get your way.
