The K2 Standard Snowboard is a versatile entry level snowboard that comes in at a great price. Featuring a primarily flat profile, medium flex, and setback stance the standard is a good choice as a first snowboard for riders who are still progressing and figuring out their preferences and style in snowboarding. I found this snowboard to be great for carving and exploring the resort in general. While you can take this board anywhere in the resort with confidence, I think it makes the most compromise when it comes to freestyle and would offer minimal benefits over a true twin for powder riding. Overall I think this is a great snowboard to learn and progress with, however I wouldn't recommend it for a true beginner first time snowboarder; it's better suited as a platform for riders with intermediate skills to master the fundamentals and progress from there. I've been riding this board (older versions, 2016 and 2018) for many seasons now. I agree 100% with everything he said. The carving is incredible, but it is stiffer than I'd like. Now that I'm more experienced, with my next board I'll be looking for something more suited for technical stuff like butters and presses, but this thing is a blast for bombing hills and carving. Great for beginners who need that extra stability.

Damn one day ill be that good im a complete beginner made the mistake of buying a hybrid camber board with to big of bindings so I had extra money so I bought this hopefully this board and the correct size bindings will help me get down the run

I first started snowboarding with the K2 illusion it was a good beginner board and i used it for about 4 years and progressed well, so last year i decided it was time for an upgrade and after watching your reviews i bought the Capita DoA and union strata bindings and they're great, Thanks for the vids bro keep up the good work!

What do you think about the Capita DOA ? I'm really interested in this board but the Ride twinpig also caught my eyes. I'm more leaning to the capita doa but would like to hear your thoughts about these two boards.
