It's basic biology. Just provide the basic resources they need, like food water and shelter, and they will start reproducing. Or make it more accessible and provide the perfect conditions to raise and support children.

woman here. if everything were cheaper and I could afford staying with my kid for its first 3yrs of life, I would have 3 kids. But that's at least 6yrs (if I get them fast one after the other) of not working from my side. At least! It could be 9 years. And I don't think that capitalism wants that. Especially since I've already wasted 60% of my 20s for universify education (Bachelor's + Master's) and didn't work either. I am now 30 and if I started having 3 kids NOW, I would only be start working again at age 39/40 at worst. And then I retire at age 65. Capitalism does definitely not want that.

Russia’s demographic decline has been going on for a long time. Maybe if the oligarchs, mafia and Putin would not keep the money that should be invested in the people and infrastructure, etcetera, then people would feel secure enough to invest themselves in Russia’s future.
And corruptness is just one facet of downward expectations…..
