What about removing the fuzz from Shimano 9100 polymer coated cables or making sure the torque is correct.
I’ve had the polymer cables slip on front derailleur pinch bolts.

#Askgcntech HI. Building a new bike with rim brakes, but the m6 bolt on the front caliper is not long enough to go through the fork. Is it possible to replace the bolt, or do i need to by a longer nut?

What about installing V-brakes on a race bike? I've never seen that but they would be much more efficient than the caliper brakes, I guess. However, is it technically possible?

Personally wouldn´t use the cable ends. I´ve found it easier to super-glue the ends of the cables. Just clean the end of the cable with something like white-spirit, be careful not to fray the cable. After the white-spirit has evaporated, stick about 5-8mm of the cable into the super-glue. Hold it for a couple of seconds, take it out, remove the excess, but leave enough so that there is a visible coating on the outside. Let it dry. Haven´t had any frayed cables for the past 5 years.

If someone has an older road bike, say kind of like a 1991 Trek, would you recommend getting a new bike or just updating the groupset?
Asking for a friend..

Is there a way to take off a front brake if the previous idiot owner of the bike has spray painted inside the hole at the back of the forks that provides access to the bolt?

I'm looking to buy some new parts for my bike. I've done my research on what I need, I just don't know where to make the purchases. Any recommendations for reliable/reputable websites that sell cycling parts, especially ones that deliver to the US?

Question: I have Shimano Ultegra rim brakes. Every time I take my front wheel off my brake caliper goes out of whack. I have to re-adjust the brake caliper because on side of the caliper will push in first. What's wrong with my brake? Is this normal?
