Nobody ever said that the Russian's make bad airframes. Their problem is always the electronics. They aren't great to begin with, and everything goes through so many committees that by the time it gets to production, the modern electronics have been replaced with existing systems badly modified to fit the new frame, to save money. I got to see these when they toured the country in 88. They are beautiful to see.

My grandfather literally worked on the Su-27 project.
According to the technical specifications of the USSR Air Force, the Su-27 fighter was designed to surpass the F-15 and F-16 in both maneuverability and thrust-to-weight ratio.
The Su-27 fighter was literally created as a hunter-killer for the F-15 and F-16.

I've said it a million times, The Su-27 is the most beautiful and sexiest looking fighter ever, the F-15 is beautiful but could only dream of being this sexy, despite that still a very menacing looking fighter.
