I do NOT care to lose my skills. As long as I know about CPR and Hypoglycemia etc. I am an OR nurse and I am looking forward to going to PSYCH in hopes of being a research psychologist or something along those lines. The draining point that you brought up is the part that I need to wrap my mind around. It sounds like chasing around a toddler. Thank you for sharing

I graduate from LPN school this august. psych has been my favorite subject and clinical rotation thus far. i even had the thought of going for psych np! i used to work as a CNA on memory care, which i absolutely loved. it’s such an interesting specialty and i for sure have the patience for it!

I have a been a MS nurse for 5 years and getting into psych has been difficult. it seems rare in some places. Finally it is a new inpatient geriatric psych floor in my hospital now. Ive been hesitant because they don't really keep staffing. That makes me nervous being brand new.

Hi do you work 12 hours shift ? I heard Psych mostly have 8 hours shifts. I don't want to work 5 days a week. Do you also have to give the patients baths and change them?

Are there any protections in place for when a patient tries to harm you? That’s really my only concern with psych
