I think we could see younger &/or older versions, & maybe even another version of a character in another timeline in S5.

It all starts with Mr Clarkes "many worlds" explanation in The Flea & the Acrobat" episode in S1.

We were also shown younger versions of Billy, Eleven, Max, Kali, & Henry during various points throughout the 4 seasons.

Lucas reading Stephen King's The Talisman novel to Max which deals with "twinners" is also interesting, especially how they exploring the younger versions of the older characters in the First Shadow stageplay.

what if for the first 2-4 episodes vecna is still in maxs mind and pretends to be her to get info from the group but the group eventually finds out and they do what they did to will in the shed in season 1.

Sometimes when I hear these theories, I wonder if we're even watching the same show...a crawl is a mission in dungeons and dragons, where you and your guys go out to get loot, food, magic, etc. Think about it, there's gonna be a bit of a time jump, they might be quarantined by the military and are living off little to no supplies and or electricity etc. That cartoon they posted on the writers account showed Jonathan and Steve tryna start a generator of some sort, they're probably out collecting supplies for the crew, or finding a new place to stay.

My theories: In Season 2 Episode 2 when Will is having his second vision of the Mind Flayer forming outside of his house. In this scene there is a brief shot of the clock in the Byers house, which seems random at first, until you notice that the hour hand is moving much faster, around the speed of a second hand. This could symbolise Vecna looking into the future using his foreshadowing powers, meaning he was showing Will the future of Hawkins with the Mind Flayer and his army invading their town. This leads to my main theory, which is that Vecna's time travelling powers are linked to the grandfather clock in the Creel mansion. It may also be the source of Vecna's ability to open gates and make psychic connections with people. Perhaps Will or someone will look into Vecna's mind, and discover that the clock is the key to Vecna's time travel powers and that, in order to close the supergate in Hawkins, they must destroy the clock in the Upside Down. This wouldn't completely strip Vecna/Mind Flayer of its powers, but would weaken him and close the gates, which would kill off Vecna's entire hivemind that is in the real world.

Another theory is that when Will was abducted in Season 1, he created the Hawkins version of the Upside Down, hence why it is stuck in November 6th 1983. This could mean that only Will has the power to destroy the Upside Down entirely, but maybe he has to channel some kind of energy or a memory in order to do it, or sacrifice himself to end it all for good

Back in Season 4, Episode 5, the flashback to the Hawkins Lab showed the other kids griping to each other about how Dr. Brenner gave Eleven so much attention. Later in the present tense of 1986, after Eleven’s powers manifested against the NINA Project guards when she’d tried to run, she then called Brenner, “Papa, ” and he responded, “Daughter.” I took that all to mean that Brenner was actually Eleven’s biological father, and the two of them were finally saying it openly.

Character Relationships: The romantic relationships and friendships among the main characters will likely evolve. may see new pairings or conflicts, especially as they grow older.

I keep thinking about Kali and I think it would be good to have her back, BUT if they decided not to bring her back, I would figure that Vecna got to her and killed and “absorbed” her. He played a lot of mind tricks on the group. Like taking place of Max’s mom, the Guidance Counselor, the Snow Ball for Max, etc. their power and mind tricks were 8’s gifts. Of course we will find out in Season 5.

The crawl theory makes no sense, because having an army of monsters from the upside down sounds a lot like the penultimate episode of the show, even though that would be the first episode of the season

You know, in season 3 after Joyce turns the keys, there were a 7 seconds black screen and we knew something happened during it.
In season 4 after Eleven breaks free from the vines, we also have a 7 seconds black screen.

But I haven't seen anyone talking about it. 👀

I feel strongly about the dual character crawl theory that you mention! Both Max and Vecna are seen in their crawls back and they flip back and forth between the two. I believe this is a very logical and probable scenario that we will see in episode 1 of season 5

I’ve heard a lot of theories about Eddie being brought back as the “Kas” of the DnD storyline that helps defeat vecna by betraying him. To me, Billy seems more fitting of the Kas roll considering he’s already betrayed him once. That would make the 2, 3, 5 theory logical if he returned as a henchmen for Vecna that ends up betraying him.
