Saved me a shit tonne of time after spending 9 years on vegas and now moving into premiere for client work. Cheers mate.

I've been trying to make the switch myself, and even though I have the basics down I still find it hard to be as...spontaneous I guess. Doing the same things in premiere feels like a chore. I wish I could cut everything in vegas and bring it into premiere/after effects but the stupid thing always crashes on import with everything I've tried. Or sometimes I'll get it to import but the aspect ratio is completely wrong and cuts off a lot of the picture.

Thank you for taking the time to do this for your fellow vegas switchers. I've been using vegas for too many years and it's just started crashing for me on windows 10 a bunch. I finally got fed up with the bugs and really wanted a specific "here's the basics of how PP works like SV". Thanks for being concise and fast.

Two years later and yet your video is still helping, so thanks. Been considering the switch to Mac purely for FCP but I think Premiere is where it's at for me. Having adopted Vegas many years ago when I first started (self taught as we almost all are aren't we?) I've found it difficult the past to try others and yet Prem is one I've constantly looked back on. Really appreciate you doing this video and the Cuda text file edit is so handy. Obvs along with selecting 'Renderer'. So yeah, just wanted to say thanks. Should help step up my game technically and render/preview a lot quicker. New sub, as if you're surprised.

Hey Ive been a bit anxious to begin with Premiere Pro, but dude. Mad props for making it look so easy. You were fast, but naturally I am as fast as you in regards to workflow, so I appreciated and it felt as if I was working. Thank you so much. Simple, yet brought me some confidence. :) cheers man.

P.S. Watched whole advertisement video to support you a little bit XD haha. Cheers.

Nice guide! I've been using Vegas Pro for 3 years now and I switched to Premiere Pro today. I like the features in Premiere a lot! Really good tutorial.

One thing I would say is that after you unlink the original clips, I personally would relink the video and my 3 audio tracks (game/mic/ts) so when I need so split it, it's just 1 click rather than 1 on each track and with less room for sync error where it splits at.

In Sony Vegas there is a Ripple Edit tool which will select all the tracks and you can move these all to the right or to the left and all layers stay in sync.  I have not found this capability in Premiere.  Does this exist?  Thanks for the tutorial..

Very useful tut! I've been a vegas user since 6-7 years I think and was resisting to migrate to PP.. but your tut helped a lot!
One quick question: When I drag a clip and while placing it right next to another, if I accidentally place it overlapping the other clip I find that it just deletes the other clip in that overlapped portion! why does that happen? In vegas it used to kinda crossfade and if I moved it later the original clip would remain intact.

apart from rendering times, do you really find it more efficent? Why? By the look of things it seems a bit less automatic (the cutting and the fade are so cluncky compared with the easy way you do them in Sony Vegas...) I'm sure that after some time it becomes natural, but.... I don't know, I'm okay using SV and for intros and stuff C4D and AE, but if PR has really better features than Vegas, I think I might give it a try...

hey everyone, hopefully someone might be able to answer my question, is it possible to change zooming on timeline to like vegas where it zooms on your playhead instead of cursor? thanks to anyone that can help

I really appreciate the video, since I'm starting to do YouTube again I figure its probably better to adapt to the industry standard.

Thanks dude. I have been wanting to possibly switch. I have both. It should be easier for me since I already use audition and photoshop.
