tips on being the new kid at school

it sucks being the “new kid” but, I promise things soon get better! this is my advice on how to overcome the first day and the title “new kid” 🫂

Y’all it’s abt being CONFIDENT. I went to my new school with the mindset that I already knew eveyone. I complimented EVERYONE around me, and slowly people started gravitating towards me, 1st day of school I went up to a group of girls and ask them where a class was, I used this as an opportunity to starts talking to them complimenting them and started calling them so pretty, wen I was getting ready to leave I said they were so cool to talk to and asked for there snaps, then I asked if it was ok if I joined them for lunch and they said yes, and I did this with new groups everyday while also mingling with other groups.
I never sat alone in lunch. Even though I’m an introvert, I faked it till i made it.
Be confident
It works!!
And now I have a solid friends group the third week.

update: i wrote this 2 years ago, you make friends over time. it took me about 2 months to find my friend group. i also met my current boyfriend almost a year ago. being a new kid and moving is scary at first, but trust me you’re gonna be okay ❤️

it’s so awkward going to the orientation for your classes because when you have a question the teachers/staff talk to you like you know this stuff and you have to be like, ”Yeah, uh I just moved here

Being the new kid can be really hard cus no one knows you and you don’t know them. The biggest regret I have is trying to act and fit in with the other kids who already knew each other. So be your self, have confidence, and be patient and you will do just fine. It may take a year but be the best you and not the best them!

A tip for anyone changing schools, just FAKE IT UNTIL YOU MAKE IT.
I don’t mean be nasty, but if you are feeling horrible and want to cry, put on a bright smile on the outside and curse everyone inside. Also, make sure you meet people vibes. Ask yourself, do I meet this persons vibe? No one wants to hang out with someone who doesn’t talk and looks like they are going to burst into tears. Bringing this point back to my first, just fake it. No one has to know, and soon enough you will have lots of lovely friends ❤ Good luck!
