The funniest thing is that kojima himself stated he rewrote the story of The sequel to death stranding(announced at game awards) because he didnt want to predict the future again

To be fair, Ronald Reagan was the first one to say “Make America Great Again”. (And Richard Nixon was the one who coined “Silent majority”.)

Metal Gear Rising's ending is hilarious. I'm constantly quoting "PLAYED COLLEGE BALL, YOU KNOW!"

MGS2 also had to be changed at the last second due to containing scenes that were eerily reminiscent of a certain other event that occurred in 2001 - despite being scripted in the game well before it it even happened

The dodgeball of Apollo truly does find the strangest people to strike.

Worth pointing out that Hideo's from the part of asia that had already gone through COV-SARS-1 before it's sequel came-a-knockin'. This is also why Contagion (excellent film, go watch it) was able to predict such a similar pandemic: Because we've seen it all before.

It's because we are on the path of self-destruction. Kojima is just being a reporter, commenting on the trajectory of where the society is going. In his stories he takes it a step further, makes them more "extreme" in a way, but it is still something we are on the path for. Besides, people love drawing parallels any way we can, hence why Simpsons "predict the future" time and time again. On top of that, different groups of people experience different events, so what might be "OMG FUTURE PREDICTED" to some, has been a reality for others for a while.

Kojima has said he and his team read a lot of science journals when researching the setting of his game, particularly for Death Stranding.

MAGA is a phrase used by other politicians over time, such as Ronald Reagan in his campaign, and Bill Clinton in his speeches.

Armstrong is just repeating a common phrase

Hideo Kojima actually constructs these global tragedies because the content that video game journalists and entertainers create around it is good free marketing for his projects

Hes a writer, and writers have the ability to describe the world as it is far beyond what they can consciously articulate.

He’s probably well studied and has seen a lot of the world.

cant believe we live in a simulation directed by kojima and he exists in the simulation as a developer cameo

The "Make America Great Again" slogan is a reference to Ronald Reagan, who both Armstrong and Trump referenced. Not that Trump's ideology was anything like Armstrong's "survival of the fittest" speech.

Not to mention all of the psychomantises we all have to deal with unplugging our controllers these days. Truly the Nostradamus of the 21st century.

A ton of people saw these coming or knew they were already happening.

People who seriously study politics/history, experts on disease or pandemics, disabled people (who are the first to be left behind and considered expendable in crises), etc.

Listen to scientists and marginalized people, and you wont surprised by as much anymore.
